A ground-breaking Jazz quartet whose core inspiration is drawn from the sophisticated and dynamic style of the legendary Yellowjackets, Spyro Gira and The Rippingtons. Their name is derived from the initials of the four talented artists who make up the group: Juanma Urriza (drums), a master of rhythm and subtlety; Fredi Peláez (keyboards) whose harmonies, with their captivating richness of sound, speak for themselves; Oskar Lakunza (saxophone), whose melodic and expressive sound informs the entire sound of the group; and Xavier Barrenetxea (bass) with his rhythmic and melodic bass that brings depth to the whole.

Juanfe Pérez: Prohibido el toque

This is the first project the multi-faceted Juanfe Pérez will lead himself, after working, prior to this, with artists of the stature of Olga Pericet, Rosario La Tremendita and Farruquito. With the bass as the central element around which the entire stage performance revolves, this live show, dubbed Prohibido el Toque (2022, stands out for its energy and the degree of complicity among the musicians.

Maite Akustik Quintet

In this acoustic project, Jazz is the unifying thread of a veritable musical migration; a vibrant and flexible language that allows for the integration of roots as well as exploration, tradition and discovery. The quintet fuses the expressive freedom of Jazz, allowing music to be not just a mere reproduction of the past.

Román Filiú: Suite Oriental

Román Filiú O’Reilly (alto saxophone, flute, musical director), Rubén Darío Reyna Cuervo (violin), Zaloa Gorostidi Bidaurrazaga (violin), Osvaldo Antonio Enrique Castro (viola), Caridad Rosa Varona Borges (violoncello)

In his Suite Oriental, Cuban multi-instrumentalist, Román Filiú, garners inspiration in the vast musical repertoire of the Oriente region of Cuba (Tumba Francesa, trova, son, etc.), which he combines with New York avant-garde sounds. The quintet format offers the flexibility necessary for transcending from simple accompaniment as a Jazz group, where it’s often all about improvisation, to a small chamber ensemble in which, as a soloist, he can fully embrace composition and form.

EME·EME·PROJECT:  Mutatis Mutandis

A Jazz, soul, R&B and hip-hop quintet, led by flutist Marta Mansilla. It is presenting its new album, MUTATIS MUTANDIS, recorded by Pablo Martin Jones and Lucas Piedra Cueva (winners of several Latin Grammys with Jorge Drexler), which is being launched this year, 2025.

Cuarteto Federal

The fruit of the meeting of four musicians very active on the contemporary Spanish Jazz scene, and have been in all of the XXI century thus far, who are all creatures of the reality of periphery - geographically and stylistically. This initiative is a conscious and deliberate invitation that emerged out of the common creative impulse of its four members: Kike Perdomo, who hails from the archipelago of the Canary Islands, Javier Galiana, from Andalusia, Xacobe Martínez Antelo, from Galicia, and Guillem Arnedo, from Catalonia.

Pere Bujosa trio

Pere Bujosa (double bass, composer), Xavi Torres (piano), Joan Terol (drums)

Led by Majorcan double bass player, Pere Bujosa, this trio explores Jazz from an open and contemporary perspective, connecting Mediterranean tradition with sound innovation. Since 2018, they have shared the stage with award-winning pianist Xavi Torres and drummer Joan Terrol, forming a solid and creative group that has a distinct language of its own. Their music combines polyrhythm, improvisation, and subtle electronic overtones, to take us into a richly nuanced sound universe.

Daniel Román Jazz Quintet: Bruegel sound

This project fuses poetry, tradition and avant-garde, making for a unique musical language. Based on Grisaille poems – inspired in Peter Bruegel’s paintings – their music seeks harmonious common ground among contemporary Jazz, electronic music, improvisation and the ancestral sounds of Chilean guitar and the traditional Andean flute, the tarka. 

Marc Ribot (guitar, vocals), Shahzad Ismaily (bass, electronics), Ches Smith (drums, electronics)

Born in New Jersey in 1954, Marc Ribot is one of the most innovative and creative guitarists of the last decades. Ribot’s music – he also is a composer and singer – is always linked to the world of experimentation and improvisation, departing from absolute freedom, with a special penchant towards raw rock, direct and loud.
